Meadowcrest Townhomes is a planned housing development on a site surrounded by an existing residential neighborhood. The development is designed to maintain the integrity of that surrounding neighborhood, while providing quality, affordable housing of diverse types.
The Master Plan calls for three unit styles. The first style is a starter townhome, perfect for the budding family. Geared toward able-bodied, younger people buying their first home, this unit type is situated on the steepest, busiest section of the site.
The second unit style is planned as a single level home for the elderly. As such, it is located on the quietest, most level area of the site and is designed to adapt to a resident's special needs.
The third style is a combination type. Aimed toward accomodating established families and families-to-be, these types are duplexes with the character of a single family home. The layout of this style is designed for expansion within the building.
Currently, The Greater Charleroi Community Development Corporation is finalizing funding for this project.
