White Oak Business District Streetscape Design DESIGN GUIDELINES

During the first phase of this Project, Hanson Design Group performed an analysis of the existing conditions using PennDOT's existing data collection for the entire length of Lincoln Way and further site investigation. Once assembled, HDG presented a series of design guidelines in the form of two options for streetscape, parking and roadway design. These Guidelines are listed below TRAFFIC CONGESTION AND SPEED Provide center turning lane w/planter medians at non- turning areas, consolidate curb cuts (shared). PARKING consolidated, shared parking areas throughout business district (average closer to 300 sf per car). PEDESTRIAN ACCESSIBILITY sidewalks and additional crosswalks with enforced yield policy. BUSINESS DISTRICT ENHANCEMENT plantings, uniform streetscaping, lighting, greenspace, public plaza, pedestrian friendly, business friendly.
